Just dropping by for a quick hi! Much is going on in our lives for the good though not much of it is smooth sailing.
I am drawing so much closer to my Jesus and my Heavenly Father and with listening to The Holy Spirit who lives within me. I need to begin getting my thoughts in order and write them down concerning what God has been doing with me (& mine) to bring us closer and closer to the image of His Son. Though here I will never be perfect.
Just reading on Anne Graham Lotz's book this morning...sorry don't have the title handy. I really got a gift from God when I checked this book out at the library. I plan to buy copies for others as gifts some day. She's for sure a woman after God's own heart. It's on the book of John the fourteenth chapter and has to do with us being the "branches" and Jesus the "Vine" and God being the "Gardener" who prunes, cleans and removes the dead, woody parts of those who belong to Him. That tender, new growth on us (the branches) is when He makes the most fruitfulness. Sometimes it takes God cutting us back harshly till we are just left a nub or connection on the Vine (Jesus). Then the sap or "life" from Jesus can flow more freely into us and begin tender new fruitful growth. The connection to the Vine will enlarge and take in more of His sap... What a beautiful picture of how God works and why authentic Christians go through trials and in a lot of cases "correction" from God. Not as punishment, but out of His love and care for us to have so much more than what we want to hold on to here on earth and make more important than Him in our life. People tend to be selfish. Christians not excluded.
Going to be teaching the ladies 30-50 yrs. old for "Sunday School" at our church in a couple of weeks and the book I am reading, studying and praying on was put in my hands by God because it goes right along with much of what I will be teaching...same verses etc. Yay! God has to specially step in sometimes with us who jump into things with both feet and provide. He definitely will have to be teaching the lessons for me but I'm grateful for the written assistance He's giving me from Anne Lotz as well as what He is and will teach me as I honestly share what I learn and seek the ladies' honest input and listening to God for understanding just like I am.
So I'd appreciate as many prayers as you will pray before the throne of God in that I won't do anything for praise or admiration but will do only because I love God and want others to have a closer relationship to God or if they don't belong to Hiim for them to come to the Cross and let Jesus save them. Oh, yeah.... Prayers for DH, Richard, would be appreciated too. He's looking for a new job closer to home that will cover the bills as this one doesn't right now. Also his Spastic Parapalegia gets a little worse each day. He's taken a few spills at home and gotten bruised. I am planning to put in an application at the elementary school here as a "lunch room lady". I better get busy and grown a mole on my chin with a hair growing out of it and buy me a hair net, eh?! lol Just kidding! All the lunch room ladies I know are pretty and very sweet. If I get a job there... I'll see if I can get the recipe for yeast rolls and post it in a blog here! School cafeteria's always make the best yeast rolls!
Well I have my daughter & the cats in the car as we just went to do pet therapy at the nursing home where we visit so I gotta go. DD wants to add a couple of movie dvds to her queue online at Blockbuster so I better switch places with her and let her come in for a minute. You guys know that I keep thinking of all you old friends and hope some day to have a home computer again! Aaaagh, how I miss my old 'puter and my picture files! I feel so dowdy not being able to put all my usual pictures and such on blogs! lol Love and hugs to all!!! Take care and may God bless you and draw you close to Himself!! Cindy
